Attorney Chris A. Nielsen, a founding partner of Nielsen & Bly, is a graduate of the University of Maine School of Law. As an undergraduate, Mr. Nielsen attended school at Siena College and the State University of New York at Plattsburgh where he graduated with honors. While at SUNY Plattsburgh, Mr. Nielsen successfully completed two prestigious internships with the Clinton County District Attorney’s Office and with the New York State Senate for the 62nd District.
Always with the mindset that he can do better then what the State has to offer, Attorney Nielsen works tirelessly to achieve the result that protects your freedom and future. Attorney Nielsen has handled countless criminal cases ranging from the most minor traffic and criminal cases to the most serious felonies such as aggravated assault, white-collar embezzlement, kidnapping and complex drug trafficking cases.
Attorney Nielsen has been deemed proficient in the administration of standardized field sobriety tests in accordance with the standards set forth by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The training he received is precisely the same training that local law enforcement receives from the Maine & New Hampshire Criminal Justice Academies.
In addition, Attorney Nielsen has successfully completed the DRE (Drug Recognition Expert) course for attorneys and is thus well equipped to deal with OUIs & DUIs involving impaired driving by drugs.
Attorney Nielsen has considerable experience handling criminal drug cases in both state and federal court. He has attended national seminars on sentencing issues in federal court as well as defense techniques. His commitment to his drug case clients is evident by the results he has consistently obtained over the years.
Attorney Nielsen is admitted to practice law in all Maine and New Hampshire state courts as well as the Maine Federal District Court.
